Social Skills 1 Camp
July 20-23 Afternoon – 1:00 – 4:00
August 17-20 Morning – 9:00 – 12:00
Ages – 3 to 5 years of age
Our Social Skills 1 Camp is for children who have Autism who are using 2 or more word sentences to communicate. They must consistently be using the “I want” phrase to request. Two clinicians from the Wildflowers’ team along with an assistant will lead 8 children through activities to enhance communication among peers and increase their sentence length. The understanding of language is also of focus with attention to following multi-step directions and understanding “wh” questions. In addition to the elements of communication – reading, writing, music, and sensory experiences are sprinkled in throughout the weeks with special visits from fellow team members listed below.
Leaders: Avery Schick, Speech-Langauge Pathologist and our Wildflowers assistant will lead the camp along with our music therapist, tutor, psychologist, and occupational therapist making special appearances daily.
