– Team Members from a variety of backgrounds lead the groups together resulting in a premium experience at Wildflowers. Submit to insurance or Individualized Funding.

– All groups are 5-8 children max.

– Registrations fill quickly when dates are released.

– Our groups are 4:1 ratio. There is not 1:1 support in the groups.

– Payment is due upon registration.

Reading and Writing Camp

Insurance: Speech therapy, Autism provincial funding

When: 9:00 – 12:00

Dates: August 15-18 (Full)

Length: 3 hours

Class size: 8 max

Lead: Morgan and Kimberly (Speech-Language Pathologist and Educational Strategist/Tutor)

Who: For children age 5-8 will intensively target foundational pre-emergent and emergent literacy skills. We will target overall reading engagement, fluency, decoding (phonics), comprehension, and the writing process. This group is designed for all children who are struggling with learning to read in Kindergarten through grade 3. Individual sessions are recommended for children 9 and up with our tutor.

Social Skills 1 Camp

Insurance and Funding: Speech Therapy, Autism provincial funding

When: 9:00-11:00am

Dates: July 18-21 (Full)

Length: 2 hours

Class size: 6 max

Leads: Kristen and Devan, two Registered Speech-Language Pathologists leading.

Who: For children age 3-5 with Autism who are learning to be in a group setting and following a structured routine. Areas of focus are the following: responding to greetings and name, understanding emotions, responding to question “how are you,” participating in a movement activity for 5-8 minutes, join in book activity, retell story with visuals, initiate and respond to questions with prompts, transitions, following two-step directions with visuals, participate in adult-led turn-taking, and requesting breaks.

Social Skills 2 Camp

Dates and Times:

July 11- 14 | 9:00 – 12:00 (FULL) OR July 18-21 | 1:00 – 4:00 (FULL)

Length: 3 hours

Class size: 8 max

Leads: Kristen and Devan for both classes, Two Registered Speech-Language Pathologists leading.

Who: For children age 6-8 with Autism who are learning the following skills: turn-taking in a group, following rules, responding to losing, understanding the concept of cheating, treating friends with respect, understanding emotions and perspectives of others, understanding body language, coping with disappointment, understanding the concept of bullying, initiating questions to multiple peers, maintaining conversation with multiple turns, making decisions with friends, and calming down and thinking before you act.

Social Skills 3 Camp

Insurance and Funding: Speech therapy, clinical counselling, Autism provincial funding

Dates: July 11-14 | 1:00 – 4:00 (FULL)

Length: 3 hours

Class size: 8 max

Lead: Devan (speech-language pathologist) and Ashley (clinical counsellor)

Who: For children age 9-12 with Autism who are learning the following skills: maintenance of conversation, inviting others into conversations, understanding treating others how you want to be treated, managing conflict, good sportsmanship, perspectives of others and compromise, advanced social problem solving and decision making, understanding stress and calming skills, positive thinking and challenging your thoughts, coping with teasing and bullying, and setting personal goals.

Story Builders Camp

Insurance and Funding: Speech therapy, Autism provincial funding

When: 1:00am – 4:00pm

Dates: August 8-11 (FULL)

Length: 3 hours

Class size: 8 max

Lead: Devan and Morgan (Two Speech-Language Pathologists)

Who: For children who are working on sequencing sentences together to share their ideas. Children will be focusing on answering WH questions about stories, retelling stories with details and descriptive words, creating own story based on events and characters, story sequencing with a beginning, middle, end, and using 5-7 sentences together.
